Catching up

Okay, okay, I missed a couple of days. I really don’t have an excuse either. I just didn’t feel like posting anything. On Tuesday, I had a Melanie moment and left the side shields for my safety glasses on the table at the restaurant where I ate lunch. They threw them away and I was just ticked because I knew that would happen, but I took them off anyway. It was my fault, but I was already upset because they messed up my order. That pretty much ruined my day and I wasn’t in the mood to write. Obviously, I’m still a little whiney about the situation. I really need to get over it.

Yesterday, I was just lazy. I thought about blogging, but just didn’t post anything. Man, am I sad or what? The only interesting thing was that I did pre-qualify for a mortgage loan. I still have a lot of work to do before I make an offer, but I’m one step closer.

Today we had a little snow during working hours. They shut the plant at 3:30 PM and it will be closed Friday. There wasn’t much water on the roads and the snow was long gone, but it may rain again tonight. It doesn’t take much ice to cause a mess on the roads anyway. I guess better safe than sorry. I’m sure the Alabama game didn’t play into the decision to close the plant at all. LOL.

It Couldn't Last

Well, I knew that I wouldn't post everyday, but I thought I would make it more than a couple of days.  I totally forgot to post last night.  So, after only two days, my one and only resolution for this year bites the dust.  Such is life.

Today was my first day back at work after the holidays.  It was a little slow with everyone getting back and trying to get used to working again.  You wouldn't think that four days off would make that much of a difference, but it does.  I spent the day analyzing data.  It kept me busy and engaged so the day went fast.  I'm tired tonight though.  Data analysis keeps the brain working even if the body isn't.

I hope to get a little digital scrapbooking done this week.  It is supposed to be really cold here this week.  There is a freeze warning in effect tonight and the threat of snow at the end of the week.  There was a little ice on the roads this morning and the ground was 'crunchy.'  It has been cold long enough that if it rains, it will freeze.  The roads will be a mess if that happens.

Another Day of House Hunting

I spent the third day in a row looking at houses.  I've now seen most of the houses on the market in my price range.  I still haven't found anything that really says 'Buy me, I'm your new home,' but I did see several houses that would work for me.  Now, I just have to spend some time thinking about what compromises I'm willing to make.  So goes the house hunting.

For the first time in a long time, I did some scrapping today.  With losing my job, moving, finding a job, and moving again; I just haven't felt very creative lately.  I'm trying to start the new year off right though, so I consider this layout a success.

It is of a picture of my niece in her 'Christmas' hat.  The kit is Joy to the World by Connie Prince, which can be found at Elemental Scraps.  I  hope to scrap some more tomorrow as I won't be looking for houses.  I might even work on a freebie if I get really inspired.

First day of 2010

This post isn't scrapbook related and there is no freebie this time, but I'm working on it.

I just decided to make a resolution to blog everyday this year.  That will probably only last a few days, but at least I'm going to try.  If I can get at least a couple of posts a week, I'll have a good jounalling record of 2010.  Anyone want to join me in my resolution?

Now, to start off my 2010 journal. I spent the day with my real estate agent looking for houses in Fultondale, Gardendale, and Mount Olive.  We checked out 11 houses in a full day of looking and I'm tired.  I saw several houses that had potential, but nothing that really said "Home."  Maybe I'm being picky, but its not like I can move every week or whenever I get tired of living there.  Houses cost a small fortune around here too.  I guess B'ham hasn't heard about the real estate bust and that it is a buyers market.  Such is life.

All in all, I consider it a good day though.  If I had to choose a house tomorrow, I think I could do it and even be happy with my choice.  I have high hopes for 2010 and it seems to be off to a slowish, but good start.

That is pretty good summary of my EXCITING day.  So I'll wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR and wrap this up for tonight.  See ya'll tomorrow.
